Kupfer 1-4

Eberhard Havekost was born 1967 in Dresden. In 1985 he trained as a stonemason and in 1996 he studied at the College of Fine Arts in Dresden. Havekost lives and works in Berlin and Dresden. In his works he focuses on landscapes and their different forms in a very special way. The artists graphics are a real rarity. The photogravure, as used in „Kupfer 1-4“ (Copper 1-4), is the precursor of modern art gravure printing, where the images are reproduced by a photo-mechanical printing process. The works aim is to make the viewer think about an individual aesthetic interpretation. The water games, based on images of the Pilzbrunnen at the Prager Strasse in Dresden, were executed in exeptionally soft and warm hues.
