Eberhard Havekost was born in Dresden in 1967. In 1985, he trained as a stonemason and in 1996 he graduated from University of Fine Arts in Dresden. Usually, the artist utilizes motifs known from the popular media, such as advertisements. As a template, Havekost employs computer processed photographs. The aesthetic is clean and appealing its visual appearance slightly distorted. The viewer feels reminiscient and yet, the works are altered in such a way, that one is forced to activate the memory to compare it with what she remembers. The work „D-6351“ illustrates a plane from 1980, where the particular point of view plays the decisive role.Eberhard Havekost
