Dieter Rehm

Herrenchiemsee 7 (blau)

The photographs of Dieter Rehm always base on reality. He adds nothing - neither by assembly nor by digital image editing. His complex atmospheric play of colours rests upon the use of expired film material and upon the effect of positive and negative printing. Architectural themes are one key aspect of the artistic work of Dieter Rehm. In his series "Herrenchiemsee" he varies the motif of the neo-baroque castle architecture in different colours and different visual focuses. By this means not least questions of aesthetic perception are spotlighted. Dieter Rehm, born in 1955 in Memmingen, Germany, lives in Munich and is since 2010 President of the Academy of Fine Arts.
