Yigal Ozeri

Untitled (Lizzy Smoking)

Born in 1958 in Israel, Yigal Ozeri's hyper-realistic oil paintings primarily feature young women in natural landscapes. In all of these paintings Ozeri captures the vulnerability of the female body. The artistic process always starts with a photo shoot: a professional crew accompanies the girls to the countryside, where Ozeri then arranges, composes and conducts. After choosing the motif, the painting process begins, and the result is a cinematic portrait of almost photographic realism. Elizabeth Jagger has also been photographed by the artist. The Rolling Stones' first daughter was so bored that she started to smoke. Ozeri captured this moment of stubborn listlessness and transformed it into the work shown here, "Lizzy Smoking" , depicting a relaxed, charming, stubborn, and especially authentic Lizzy Jagger.
