Jean-Luc Moerman lives in Brussels and is known in the international art scene by expositions and art fairs. Street art was at the origin of his work, but by now there are many new facets. His art works comprise organic drawings as well as psychedelic paintings, biomorphic design and pop. Moerman is largely independent form a certain medium, his unique style shows to advantage not only on human skin but also on every other surface.
For the work shown here, Moerman has appropriated Botticelli’s famous painting “The Birth of Venus”. The bodies of Venus and the two winds, Zephyr and Aura, have been covered, from neck to ankle, with black tattoo lines by the artist.
