Timeless Standards (#7)

It is the world around him that Cory Arcangel (b. 1978) is interested in. The world of video games, internet culture, computers and experimental music defines the environment of the young American artist from childhood and teenage on. Just like older generations of artists, his work refers to that environment. And in consequence of that, also his artistic tools consist of computer programs - mostly specially designed - and computer games. His works of art, although covering some drawing and traditional sculpture, consist mainly of internet projects, music performances and video installations that explore the rules and constraints within modern technology and sometimes playfully present free spaces within those confines.
