Andy Warhol
Joseph Beuys
Andrew Warhola was born in Pittsburgh and in the following 59 years became the probably best known artist of all ages. He left an enormous oeuvre that comprises advertising graphics as well as paintings, films and books. In addition to his art works Warhol was passionate about designing his self, he staged himself in the middle of the most dazzling people of his day. He enjoyed the splendor of his environment and loved to reflect himself in it. So, it's not by accident that he covers his portrait of Joseph Beuys with sparkling diamond dust. It's more himself than the portrayed person that Warhol stages by this - and once again presents himself as a shy master mind in the background. Andy Warhol |
