Andy Hope 1930

Ein Tuch und vier Radierungen

Andy Hope 1930 has been Andreas Hofer's pseudonym since 2010. He was born in Munich in 1963 and now lives and works in Berlin. The wall installation „Ein Tuch und vier Radierungen“ (One cloth and four etchings) is composed of five separate works. For the digital print on fabric, as well as for the four etchings, the artist chose typical scenes from his own surreal parallel world. On the cloth a superhero wedding is illustrated, three of the four selected etchings Hope shows mysterious female figures, based on science fiction comics. As inspiration, Hope employs both picturesque positions as well as B-movies and Hollywood classics from the 30's.
