The Listeners Black II
Tina Berning, born in 1969 in Braunschweig, examines in her drawings and watercolors the human body, its shortcomings and its relationship to beauty. Berning's figures are graceful and yet imperfect. The artist uses motifs from the glossy magazines of the lifestyle industry and then opposes them old, yellowed and torn papers. In her illustrations the stereotypes get a new shape, get fragile and vulnerable, which manifests the face and the idea of man the more resistant.
