The prints of the American Pop Art artist Mel Ramos are based on mostly large-scale paintings, which the artist paints from sketches and drawings. The theme and motive of Ramos’ artistic work, has been much discussed and debated. He declares himself, with increasing urgency, as a critic of consumerism and commercial aesthetics. Anyway his works played an important role for pop vocabulary and artistic strategy.
