Thomas Stimm copies nature and deviates from it at the same time. His stylized flowers and trees, his berries and herbs are identifiable at first sight and though they are colourful alienations of nature. They differ from the pattern of nature in colour as well as in size - after all, the Vienna-born artist (b. 1948) makes his sculptures both as miniatures and in monumental size. Thomas Stimm lives in Ilz (Austria) and Cologne (Germany) alternately.
