Here comes Santa

Sylvie Fleury is an appropriation artist. She is working with things and pictures, that she found, fragments of the Western world and the European culture. In Sylvie Fleury's work, these things are getting a new life as pieces of art. In selecting these objects, the artist is of course not arbitrary. Every object, every image that Fleury uses, is taken out of its original context to and is becoming an icon of our culture, in an often quite humorous way.
