Schön War's! (Hochwaldhausen)

Stefan Hunstein (b. 1957 in Kassel) considers photographs as components of the collective memory of a society. Thus, he takes a series of German postcards from the 1950s and 1960s and gives them a retouch. By changing details - like the colours - he turns familiar themes into the irritating images of the "Schön war's!" series. The Kassel-born artist creates a "Panorama of Desire" that reflects the experience of a generation, that has been affected by World War II and the post-war period.
