With themes such as Revolution, the failure of ideology and the role and power of art, Jonathan Meese's dazzlingly bombastic installations, paintings, sculptures and performances emerge from what he calls the "dictatorship of art". Having appointed himself as the representative of his personality, Meese incorporates his own image into most of his works and personifies figures from popular culture as well as his own development in his cult status.
