The swiss born artist John M. Armleder is a painter, sculptor, concept- and performance artist as well as an art critic and writer. His approach to art is both universal and comprehensive. Similar to artists of the classical modern, John M. Armleders works transcend borders. At the same time he treats these transitions and breaks in art from a contemporary point of view. John M. Armleders golden mosaics, like contemporary art itself, alternate between reality and their own aura. The ambivalence of this idea is Armleders artistic starting point and a major theme in his oeuvre.
