Again and again and in different manners Helge Hommes paints trees. Thereby he not only examines the tree as an individual by painting a downright portrait of it. At the same time he shows the different perspectives and views that are possible when you look at a tree. With his art work the German artist demonstrates impressively the variety of views in reference to one and the same subject. In "into the trees" he directs the view to the sky and picks out the aspiring aspect of the tree as a central theme and at the same time he attracts the attention to the purely graphic character of his motive by the backlighting technique.
