Elliott Erwitt once said, the reason why he became a photographer, was because of his shyness. The camera created a relaxing distance between him and the person in front of the camera. That might have connected him to Marilyn Monroe. She reportedly has been a quite shy and sensitive person too, behind all that media hype. Out of the collaboration of the two, some of the most intimate and emotional photographs of Marilyn emerged. This photograph was taken on the filmset of the hollywood classic 'Misfits'. |
