Dieter Rehm

Herrenchiemsee 2 (blau)

Dieter Rehm, born in 1955 in Memmingen, Germany, is since 2010 President of the Academy of Fine Arts. Living in Munich, he takes his photographs basing on reality and works mostly with changes in colour and positive and negative prints. At the same time he never uses assembly or digital image editing for his effects. The technical basis is expired film material that produces unreal looking colour changes. Frequently Dieter Rehm deals with architectural themes. The series "Herrenchiemsee" varies the motif of the neo-baroque castle architecture with different visual focuses and colour settings - putting into question the aesthetic perception itself.
