The Swiss artist Christian Robert-Tissot uses writing as the basis for his work. For him, it's not colors, shapes or composition, that determine his works, but letters and words. In a very humorous and light manner Christian Robert-Tissot examines the tension between the formal aspects of writing and the systematic codes language. There are several other artists who are working in this quite theoretical field, but none of them does it in this refreshingly intelligent way and as successful as Christian Robert-Tissot.
