Christian Keinstar loves big pictures. Though it is not always the large-size format he chooses for his artworks. His performances, sculptures or photographs deal with perception and visibility. Just in contrast to the name the artist created for himself, "Keinstar", that means "no star" in German. The real world is the big picture the young artist works with, frequently depicting small segments of real life in virtually eerie shifts. With his kind of provocation he saps commonplace perspectives and eliminates the frontier between artwork and beholder. Christian Keinstar was born in Poland. Today he lives and works in Cologne, Germany.
