Ralf Peters - Biography

Scenes, motives which say something about the conformity of our time is what the photographer and concept artist Ralf Peters is looking for. He finds it in the cold underground-stations of our cities, in the always same looking architecture of petrol stations and in the sterile airport terminals. He reduces romantaic Landscapes to purely structure by making them blurred. He learned alot by the artist Gerhard Richter. What connects Richter and Peters? Ralf Peter wants to evoke questions as well as Richter. He shows the reality alienated. But Peters is definitely going into antoher direction. He remains at the surface, he is apolitical and makes his artworks very corny. Blur is what allows the viewers to interpret their own feelings and memories right into the Artwork. It's an expedition into the unconscious mind.
