Must See - Berlin Art Week - Magnet for art lovers!

Until Sunday, visitors are invited to discover a remarkable programme at the Berlin Art Week. Lighthouse project at this year’s second edition is the show „BubeDameKönigAss“ at the Neue Nationalgalerie.

It’s mission is to show that painting is still a vital genre. Martin Eder, Michael Kunze, Anselm Reyle and Thomas Scheibitz, four renowned Berlin based artists are exhibiting together. The well established art fairs abc and Preview are also part of the programme. The abc (art berlin contemporary) presents 120 international artists. The Preview artfair hosts 77 galleries from 18 different countries.

Also the Berliner Liste, not officialley part of the Berlin Art Week programme, attracts many visitors with young artists and affordable prices. The same is true for the independent artfair B.agl Art Explosion. Famous film maker Rosa von Praunheim is presented here aswell as other artists with a critical view of the main stream art market. The art fair denies itself of public funds and is only financed with dues of the participating galleries and partners.

Furthermore, the central part of the programme is constituted by the huge number of Berlin based commercial art galleries. They all present new exhibitions, and under the slogan „Artinsight galleries“, professional art consultants offer guided tours for small groups. With around 400 galleries, Berlin has the highest density of galleries  all over Europe.
