CHTO - Biographie

CTHO was born in Lyon in 1976.

He studied political science in Paris and in London in 1994 then moves to New York for the film and photography program of the Tisch school.

At age of twenty, he creates a monthly newspaper "Don Quichotte".

In 2016 he co-curated with Michael Arzt in the Halle 14, Spinnerei Leipzig - and Fran.ois Cusset, the author of “French Theory”, the “Capitalist Melancholia” exhibition in Leipzig, where he also presents two installations, “The speculative cemetery”, “Exhaustion”, and the “A to Z of Capitalist melancholia” video diptych. The curatorial platform, “A People is Missing” is commissioned to co-curate an international conference on “the government of times”.

In February 2015 he opens the first of his three Solo-Shows in the Spinnerei, Halle 14, in Leipzig, connecting all medias in what he coins as ‘art narratives’. “The Potential Exhibition” proposes a space wandering between pieces such as ‘The Bartleby of modern times’, ‘the potential art manifesto’, ‘What could be’ with the Leipzig duo Famed and the prototype of ‘The arch of potential futures’. His kids perform what he titles as the “activation of possible futures”.
